Ready for the Fight

  1. We need to know what we fight for.
  2. God had frustrated the plan of the opposers to ambush and annihilate the Jews.

Rally Together

  1. Our God will fight for us.

Be on Guard!

  1. Nehemiah saw the threat - the enemy with the evident danger.
  2. They needed guards to be alert at all times, stayed dressed with weapons in hand, ready to fight when needed.

"...stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Sod of Man."   - Luke 21:36

God gave Nehemiah and his people an assignment - to rebuild the wall.  Opposition came. They built the wall anyway - they made ready for the fight, rallied together and stayed on their guard.

We have a job, too. Our job begins the same way as Nehemiah.

  • Have a broken heart
  • Fast, pray, build
  • God has assigned each of us us a place to build His kingdom (His people).
  • Our construction project involves the building of people.
